Day 1 & Day 2

Shanghai - Wuzhen - Hangzhou

This 2-day Hangzhou tour from Shanghai will start with the Wuzhen Water Town. To get there, you are going to take a high speed train from Shanghai to Tongxiang by yourself. We will reserve the train tickets for you and send the booking record to you in advance. You only need to show your passport to board the train. You will arrive at Tongxiang Railway Station in around 30 minutes. Our guide and driver will pick you up at the train station and then transfer you directly to the Wuzhen Water Town.


Wuzhen Boat Ride
Wuzhen is an ancient water town with a history of over 1,300 years and it captures the heart of numerous visitors by traditional residences, various elegant bridges, and crisscrossing water alleys. Here you can also feast your stomach with local cuisines at snack shops or restaurants at your own expense. Our guide is willing to offer you some recommendations.


Local House
In the water town, you can see the antique houses spreading along the bank of the river. Different with other water towns, some of the houses along the river extend to the river surface, which is called “water pavilion”. This is a unique feature of Wuzhen. It shows the close contact between the local residents and their river.

After spending a nice time in Wuzhen, we will take a comfortable drive to the downtown Hangzhou and check in a hotel for the night. Today's Wuzhen tour from Shanghai ends here.

Day 2 Hangzhou

It is well-known that a Hangzhou tour is not complete without visiting the West Lake. This morning, our guide will come to pick you up at the hotel lobby at the appointed time. Then we will head for the renowned West Lake and a boat trip on the lake is arranged for you to take in the scenery. With lush hills as its backdrop as well as pavilions, bridges, and plants mirrored on the water, the West Lake is full of beautiful scenes at every corner. Please have your camera ready.

After disembarking, you will be accompanied to the view shoals of carps at the Flower Harbor. Continue our visit to the Meijiawu Tea Village to enjoy the tea plantation. It is said that the tea growth in the region around Meijiawu is the best because of the soil and the weather. It’s serene once you hike far into the fields. Walking down the hill is probably not easy as climbing up. Sports shoes are recommended. Besides, it is better to bring long sleeve shirt and trousers if you travel there in summer as mosquitos may be a problem.


West Lake
At noon, you may have a meal at a nearby restaurant by yourself. Your guide will give you some advice for local famous food. Then we will continue this private Hangzhou tour to the Peak Flown From Afar Scenic Area to appreciate around 340 deliberate stone carvings and sculptures. Climb over the peak and we will arrive at the Lingyin Temple which is the oldest temple in Hangzhou with a history of over 1,700 years.

In the late afternoon, we will conclude this 2-day Hangzhou tour package with the Six Harmonious Pagoda built on the hilltop during the Northern Song Dynasty (960 - 1127) by the wide Qiantang River.
